50 sexy and talented women we want to see more of in 2014

Some of these 50 women we want to see more of in 2014 are women we saw only briefly in 2013, but really enjoyed. While other women on this are women we didn’t get to see at all. Either way, we want more this year. Can someone please make that happen? We’re already two months in and we’re still waiting…

When you’re done here, check out the women we wanted to see more of in 2013 and see if they came through for us or not.

50. Xenia Deli

Xenia Deli hit the Internet like a hurricane in 2013, but despite having dominated the South African Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue she didn’t get the nod to move up to the big leagues this year. Note to SI (and everyone else): We want more Xenia.

49. Arielle Kebbel

Arielle Kebbel image by Jaguar PS/Shutterstock

Why can’t this girl get a regular role on TV or a good movie role? Seeing her here and there over the years on shows like Gilmore Girls, The Vampire Diaries, and 90210 just isn’t getting it done. What’s that? She got one of the lead roles in a new sci-fi show called The After that just started? That’s good. Oh, it’s an Amazon Studios original only available on Amazon? Not good enough.

48. Alexa Vega

Alexa Vega image by Helga Esteb/Shutterstock

Carmen Cortez from the Spy Kids movies has sure grown up nice. Never was that more evident than in Machete Kills (and on her Instagram account) last year. Now at age 25, it’s about time she started getting some more substantial roles in films where she can really show how much she’s grown…as an actress.

47. Paz Vega

Paz Vega image by DFree/Shutterstock

Paz Vega was one of the sexiest women to appear on film in the 2000s starring in Spanglish and The Spirit. Hell, she was recently the the face of L’Oreal Spain for God’s sake. So why hasn’t she become a regular part of our American movie scene yet? Hello Hollywood?!

46. Keira Knightley

Keira Knightley image by Everett Collection/Shutterstock

Sure, we’ve called Keira Knightley overrated (because she is), but there’s no denying that she’s easy on the eyes and well, we like our eyes. Now we know that she made more money than she can ever spend with those Pirates movies, but can she please make a movie sometime that we actually want to see? It’s been five years since that happened. Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit still didn’t do it for us, or very many other people for that matter.

45. Berenice Marlohe

Berenice Marlohe image by Featureflash/Shutterstock

Berenice Marlohe dominated both on and off the screen when she played Severine in the Bond film Skyfall in 2012. We figured that was going to be just the beginning for her in American films. She hasn’t been in a movie since. What? Word on the street is that she might be in two movies this year. Let’s hope that happens and she isn’t buried in the credits.

44. Marion Cotillard

Marion Cotillard image by DFree/Shutterstock

Marion Cotillard is probably the most underrated current Academy Award winner working today. So why do we have to back to The Dark Knight Rises of 2012 to find her in a movie role that puts her talent to good use. (No, her cameo in Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues doesn’t count.)

43. Victoria Summer

Victoria Summer image by Jaguar PS/Shutterstock

British singer, model and actress Victoria Summer played Julie Andrews in Saving Mr. Banks, but if you blinked you might have missed her. Now she’s supposed to play the very high-profile role of Joshua’s Executive Assistant in this summer’s Transformers: Age of Extinction. On the plus side she’ll be the lead character in the upcoming horror film Terrordactyl. Wait, that’s not really a plus. This lady deserves better.

42. Rachel Weisz

Rachel Weisz image by Featureflash/Shutterstock

We love Rachel Weisz, because, what’s not to love? But since 2011 she’s only appeared in two movies, The Bourne Legacy and Oz the Great and Powerful. We want more.

41. Cassie

Cassie image by Featureflash/Shutterstock

Cassie burst on to the scene and into our hearts way back in 2006 with her debut album. Seven years later she finally put out another one, but it was just a mixtape, which was nice, but how about another studio album? Please?

40. Emma Thompson

Emma Thompson image by DFree/Shutterstock

Emma Thompson is on this list merely for her awesome tipsy presentation of an award at the Golden Globes (plus her off-the-charts behavior at about 20 other events). We already knew she was a great actress, but who knew she was so fun? She needs to present every award at the next Golden Globes.

39. Anna Kendrick

Anna Kendrick image by Helga Esteb/Shutterstock

Frankly, the reason we want more Anna Kendrick is because we can’t get enough of her. She’s awesome. But since Twilight ended (which really didn’t feature her the way we like) she’s only been in The Company You Keep, Drinking Buddies, and Rapture-Palooza (no idea). Let’s hope at least one of the six (yes, six) movies she could possibly appear in during 2014 is something in which she can be, well, Anna Kendrick.

38. Danielle Panabaker

Danielle Panabaker image by carrie-nelson/Shutterstock

For years now we’ve wanted to see more of Danielle Panabaker, but for some reason she keeps getting stuck in B-movies (Piranha 3DD, anyone?). Finally in 2014 she might have caught a break with a role in the The Flash, another CW comic book-based TV show spin-off of the great Arrow. Problem is we’re still holding our breath and waiting for a premiere date.

37. Gabrielle Union

Gabrielle Union image by s_bukley/Shutterstock

Think Like a Man Too? Is that the best we can do for Gabrielle Union in 2014? At least we can still catch her on Being Mary Jane on BET, but isn’t it about time for the future Mrs. Dwyane Wade to take the next step up in Hollywood?

36. Charisma Carpenter

Charisma Carpenter image by Jaguar PS/Shutterstock

Back in August of last year Charisma Carpenter showed us that she’s still got the bangin’ bod that produced one of the best Playboy spreads ever and made us fall in lust with her on Buffy and Angel. So why is it the only time we get to see her on film anymore is when another Expendables movie rolls around (another is due out this year, and yes, she’s in it).

35. Hilary Duff

Hilary Duff image by Joe Seer/Shutterstock

Hilary Duff is one of the celebrities who has done so little lately she’s almost reaching famous for being famous status. Which is too bad, because we’d like to see her, you know, act. Other than six episodes on Gossip Girl back in 2009 there hasn’t been anything she’s done we’ve wanted to see. Word on the street is that she’s signed on for a show called Younger for TV Land. Unfortunately it’s still in the pilot stage, but hey, at least it’s a start.

34. Milla Jovovich

Milla Jovovich image by Featureflash/Shutterstock

Remember all those great roles Milla Jovovich used to take like Alice in Resident Evil? Of course you do, because that’s all she seems to do anymore as she’s going be in Resident Evil 6 in 2015. Which would be fine if her last movie role wasn’t way back in 2012 in … Resident Evil: Retribution. At least she’s going to be in something this year called Cymbeline, based on William Shakespeare’s work. Someone get this talented lady a new agent, stat.

33. Katrina Law

Katrina Law image by Joe Seer/Shutterstock

Did you ever catch Katrina Law in those Spartacus series on Starz? Then you know why we want to see more of her. She was awesome as Nyssa al Ghul on Arrow, so hey, how about more of her doing that? Hello? Hollywood?

32. Ashley Benson

Ashley Benson image by s_bukley/Shutterstock

Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens garnered more headlines in 2013 thanks to Spring Breakers, but it’s Ashley Benson that we want to see. Sure, Pretty Little Liars is still rolling strong, but how about mixing in another film for us, and soon?

31. Kathleen Robertson

Kathleen Robertson image by Phil Stafford/Shutterstock

Same thing goes for Kathleen Robertson, another Starz alumnus from the series Boss, who is now set to kill it again on the TNT show Murder in the First, set to start this summer. So how about we get her a juicy movie role in the mean time? She’s come a long damn way from 90210, people.

30. Natalie Zea

Natalie Zea image by Helga Esteb/Shutterstock

Natalie Zea is one of our favorite actresses thanks to her role on Justified and then her move over to The Following on Fox. She wasn’t too bad on Under the Dome either, despite it being a terrible show. Now it’s time for her to start dominating movies, but it appears that she’s headed for yet another TV show, The Rebels, where she’s the owner of a pro football team. Actually, that sounds interesting. Stay tuned.

29. Kat Graham

Kat Graham image by Helga Esteb/Shutterstock

Kat Graham has been amazing on The Vampire Diaries going on five years now, but Nina Dobrev gets 10 times the ink (which she deserves) and we think now it’s time for Kat to get her moment in the sun. Perhaps her film Addicted which opens in September will be that shining light.

28. Heather Graham

Heather Graham image by Featureflash/Shutterstock

Heather Graham, the woman who never ages, has made a million films in her career, so she really doesn’t have to work as much as she used to, but that makes us unhappy. These brief Hangover appearances aren’t enough. Oh, she’s going to be in a film with Selena Gomez called Behaving Badly this year along with maybe a couple of other films in lead roles? That’s better. Hope they’re worth watching.

27. Lake Bell

Lake Bell image by Jaguar PS/Shutterstock

Lake Bell is just ridiculously talented, she’s also a writer and director in addition to being a great actress, so no matter what she does we’re always wanting to see more. Mark it down, someday she’s going to win some kind of Oscar. Plus, well, she’s hot, so that’s another reason we want more. What?

26. Tika Sumpter

Tika Sumpter image by Featureflash/Shutterstock

Tika Sumpter is one of those underrated actresses that when you see her you think, “Damn, she’s good. Why don’t I see her more?” At least that’s what we think. Unfortunately at the moment she’s on the TV show The Haves and the Have Nots. Heard of it? It’s on Oprah’s network, so if you’re a dude, probably not. At least we got to see her in Ride Along.

25. Joelle Carter

Joelle Carter image by Helga Esteb/Shutterstock

Yep, another woman from Justified that we love. What? It’s an amazing show! Unfortunately the show isn’t going to be around much longer so we need Hollywood to find Joelle some new (and good) work pronto. She’s supposed to be in a film called Jessabelle this year, but, uh, it’s not quite what we have in mind.

24. Odette Annable

Odette Annable image by Joe Seer/Shutterstock

Remember when some people thought Odette Annable might be the next Megan Fox (with more acting talent) after she did Cloverfield in 2008? Yeah, we don’t either because we don’t get to see her nearly often enough for our tastes. Granted she was on House, for one season, but she hasn’t exactly been acting up a storm of late. Thankfully she is now on that Cinemax show called Banshee in a recurring role, but frankly we’re hoping for more.

23. Julianne Hough

Julianne Hough image by DFree/Shutterstock

Julianne Hough was the number one (and mainly only) reason to watch Dancing With The Stars a few years ago. She’s so damn cute. Then she left, recorded an album, did a little acting, and well, her appearances in movies and on TV have come with decreased regularity. She’s supposed to be starring a film called Curve, hopefully this year, but that’s not nearly enough face time for us (and no, not black face).

22. Ashley Greene

Ashley Greene image by s_bukley/Shutterstock

Ashley Greene was one of the very few actors in the Twilight series that we didn’t hate, but since that ended it hasn’t exactly been all roses for her when it comes to movie and TV roles. Pan Am – Fail. LOL – Fail. CBGB – Fail. Now she’s reportedly supposed to be in up to three films in 2014. That’s good. Let’s just hope the movies are better so we get to see her on a more regular basis.

21. Carla Gugino

Carla Gugino image by Jaguar PS/Shutterstock

Carla Gugino was number one on our list of the most underrated women of 2012 so needless to say we would like to see her more than we do, but in 2013 the only contact we had with her was in a TV movie and as the voice of Kelor in Man of Steel. Looks like she’s still highly underrated.

20. Alice Greczyn

Alice Greczyn image by Helga Esteb/Shutterstock

We’ve long had a thing for Alice Greczyn for years now and we’ve been waiting for her to break out with a starring role in a feature film or on a major television show. Today we’re still waiting because while she was on the ABC Family show The Lying Game for two seasons, (1) it was on ABC Family, and (2) it was cancelled midway through 2013. Now that she’s free again, how about someone getting this girl the higher profile gig she deserves?

19. Hannah Ware

Hannah Ware image by s_bukley/Shutterstock

Did you see Hannah Ware playing Emma Kane on the Starz series Boss? Have you seen Hannah Ware at all? This is a woman we love. And sure she’s still on TV starring in the ABC drama Betrayal, but the show’s first season ended in January. Unless something else comes up soon we’re only going to be left with hearing her voice as one of the characters in the upcoming video game Agent 47 in 2014. That’s not good enough. We want more.

18. Freida Pinto

Freida Pinto image by DFree/Shutterstock

We’ve been fans of Freida Pinto ever since she broke on to the scene in Slumdog Millionaire. That was in 2008. Since then about all we’ve seen in that we enjoyed was Immortals…in 2011. Didn’t she get a bunch of nominations and awards for Slumdog Millionaire? Yes, she did. So why is it we might have to wait until 2015 to see her in Knight of Cups with Christian Bale, Natalie Portman and Cate Blanchett? Let’s get that production done before the end of the year, okay?

17. Eva Longoria

Eva Longoria image by Debby Wong/Shutterstock

In 2013 we got to see Eva Longoria do a voice for a Canadian animated TV series called Mother Up! and uh, well, that was about it. We miss her. Get back to work, please.

16. Naomie Harris

Naomie Harris image by Helga Esteb/Shutterstock

When we were introduced to Naomie Harris in Skyfall it looked like she had future superstar written all over her. Her work in Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom proved us to be correct. So why is it that we might have to wait until 2015 to see her in a movie again – a Bond movie at that? Someone find something good for her to do THIS year.

15. Gina Carano

Gina Carano image by Featureflash/Shutterstock

Gina Carano, oh how we miss you. Sure, we still get to see you now and then, but nothing like the old days. The good old days – when you were beating asses for real, not in the occasional movie. And by occasional we mean you’ve only been in two movies since 2011. We expected more. Here’s an idea! Come back and fight, please? Just imagine the kind of money a Rousey-Carano fight would rake in.

14. Lizzy Caplan

Lizzy Caplan image by Helga Esteb/Shutterstock

We couldn’t have been happier to see Lizzy Caplan finally land another sweet role on TV with Masters of Sex. After all it had been three years since we got to see her on a regular basis on Party Down. Mix that in with her excellent work on True Blood and it seems to us that Lizzy’s more than ready to hit the big screen with a vengeance. Can someone make that happen?

13. Minka Kelly

Minka Kelly image by Jaguar PS/Shutterstock

From 2011 through 2013 Minka Kelly was almost completely AWOL from our entertainment lives. Now she’s finally on a TV show, Almost Human, that we pray lasts longer than her roles on Charlie’s Angels (8 episodes) and Parenthood (9 episodes), the only other two shows she’s starred in since Friday Night Lights called it quits in 2009. Appearing in a movie sometime soon wouldn’t hurt our feelings either.

12. Michelle Trachtenberg

Michelle Trachtenberg image by DFree/Shutterstock

Remember when Michelle Trachtenberg was the hots? We do, so where did she go? A TV movie and a couple of cameos on TV in 2013? Jeezus, what happened? Someone find her some work. We miss her.

11. Gemma Arterton

Gemma Arterton image by Featureflash/Shutterstock

We really enjoyed Gemma Arterton as Strawberry Fields in Quantum of Solace. We relished her portrayal of Princess Tamina in the Prince of Persia. And we absolutely loved her as the ass-kicking Gretel in Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters. Unfortunately those three roles were spread out over five years. We’d really like her to be busier this year going forward, please.

10. Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie image by JStone/Shutterstock

Angelina Jolie has been AWOL from Hollywood for awhile now. Her double mastectomy contributed to that absence recently, but she had already vanished even before that as her last role in a film (where she wasn’t just the voice in a cartoon) was The Tourist way back in 2010. Thankfully she’ll be back this year in Maleficent, but after that she’s got nothing else scheduled. We want more.

9. Bar Paly

Bar Paly image by Jaguar PS/Shutterstock

There are two very good reasons we want to see more of Bar Paly in 2014. One, she’s a stunning model, and two, she looked amazing in the film Pain & Gain last year. Love it when our favorite models go into acting (see Upton, Kate and Ratajkowski, Emily).

8. Cassie Scerbo

Cassie Scerbo image by Helga Esteb/Shutterstock

One word: Sharknado. More please. Thank you.

7. Lily Collins

Lily Collins image by JStone/Shutterstock

We’ve been banging the drum for Phil Collins’ stunning and talented actress daughter for a couple of years now and so far she hasn’t disappointed us one bit. Unfortunately we only see one movie on her docket in 2014 so far. That’s not enough.

6. Jaimie Alexander

Jaimie Alexander image by Jaguar PS/Shutterstock

Who here doesn’t love Sif from the Thor movies? Who here doesn’t wish she played a bigger role in those movies? And in turn, who doesn’t wish we could see Jaimie Alexander playing just about any role more often? Then you know how we feel.

5. Genesis Rodriguez

Genesis Rodriguez image by Helga Esteb/Shutterstock

Genesis Rodriguez makes this list for three reasons. One, look at her. Two, she’s funny as hell in real life. And three, she’s a damn fine actress. She was great in The Last Stand last year, but if you blinked you missed her in Identity Thief, so here’s to hoping that the roles she plays in 2014 are of the more meaty variety.

4. Jessica Alba

Jessica Alba image by Jaguar PS/Shutterstock

Is Jessica Alba even considered an actress anymore? Since 2010 she’s starred in one film – a kid’s movie, Spy Kids 4. We want our Jessica Alba back.

3. Charlize Theron

Charlize Theron image by Helga Esteb/Shutterstock

Charlize Theron did not appear in a film in 2013. Need we say more?

2. Kate Beckinsale

Kate Beckinsale image by Helga Esteb/Shutterstock

Let’s be honest here. We just want to see more Kate Beckinsale because, dammit, she’s Kate Beckinsale. Hot as hell, funny, entertaining, can play a serious badass when needed, what more could you ask for? That being said, she wasn’t in a single film in 2013. How is that even possible?

1. Megan Fox

Megan Fox image by vipflash/Shutterstock

Okay. Megan Fox just squeezed out her second kid with whatshisname a couple of weeks ago. Can she PLEASE get back to doing movies, preferably ones that don’t suck? We really miss her acting “skills” on the silver screen. Thank you.
