Amanda Bynes has been having a rough couple of days. We’ve had her grinding on some security guard and looking like a fool, shoplifting all over the place again and getting engaged to a teenager, but it looks like the tipping point was accusing her father of sexual abuse because Amanda’s finally been thrown into a mental hospital over the weekend.
She was committed to a psychiatric hospital on Friday night after flying in to LAX following her continuing battle with mental health issues.
But according to reports by Radar on Sunday, Amanda Bynes is struggling to accept the help she desperately needs.
A source told the website: ‘Amanda is having a tough time adjusting to being in treatment again…’
The troubled former child star is currently on a 72 hour hold at Las Encinas Hospital in Pasadena, CA…
The emergency intervention came after her mental health began to deteriorate while in New York when she publicly accused her father Rick of child abuse.
Before she was committed, the 28-year-old actress removed the allegations she made against her father on Twitter.
‘In a rare moment of clarity before Amanda became a patient at the mental health facility in Pasadena, she actually deleted the posts on Twitter accusing her father of sexually abusing her,’ Radar’s source added.
‘No one else but Amanda did it.’
Bynes is being held under section 5150 of the California Welfare and Institutions Code which states that mentally ill people can be committed against their will if they’re considered a danger to themselves or others. Girlfriend can be as unhappy there as she wants, but as long as the 72 hour hold on her yields in results that state she’s better off there for at least a while, it looks like we won’t be having any more shenanigans out of Amanda.
But what about her engagement to Caleb Pusey? Surprise surprise, that’s not a real thing either.
According to various reports … Amanda’s tying the knot with 19-year-old Caleb Pusey (relax, it’s French) … a guy with whom she got close while they were in rehab … but sources close to Caleb tell us it’s absolutely not true.
We’re told Caleb and Amanda DID befriend each other … but he says they never dated much less set a date. In fact … he says he hasn’t spoken with Bynes in months.
Let’s hope she gets her shit together.
