Late night hosts pay tribute to Robin Williams

With a full day to process Robin Williams’ shocking death, late night hosts Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers all took a few moments to pay tribute to the fallen star.

While each tribute was special, the one that stands out the most was Conan O’Brien’s because of a story he told in which Williams bought him a bicycle, as only he could.

“I knew Robin in show business, he’d been a guest on the show, the best talk show guest ever probably. But just a quick example of what he was like: a bunch of years ago I went through, publicly, a little bump in the road and I was feeling a little low,” said O’Brien.

“Out of the blue, Robin Williams buys me a bicycle. I was kind of low, and this is so Robin Williams — it was the most absurd bright orange and bright green bicycle with shamrocks on it.”

“So I called him up and all he could say was, ‘Does it look ridiculous? Will you look stupid riding it?’ He had just that amazing spirit of fun.”

Jimmy Fallon said Williams was one of a kind, one in a million, and unbelievable as he shared his condolences followed by footage of Williams’ first Tonight Show appearance.

Seth Meyers also sent condolences and turned his attention to the awfulness that is depression, “The saddest part of this is Williams was battling depression, and if there is anything we can do to honor his memory I would hope it would be to use this opportunity to educate us more about this terrible affliction.”
