Throwback Thursday: Brooke Shields

Brooke Shields has been impressing as an actress and model since the late 1970s so today we take a look back at the many reasons we became big fans of hers and why we still are today. Very few women in Hollywood have held it together and succeeded in so many areas as well as Brooke has for so long.

Click on to see Brooke the way we remember her and how she looks today.

Shields captured America’s attention as a child actor playing a prostitute in the film Pretty Baby in 1978 and then again in the 1980 film The Blue Lagoon, both for her acting skill and for the fact that she had nude scenes in each film causing much controversy. Also in 1980, at age 14, Shields became the youngest fashion model ever to appear on the cover of Vogue. Later that year she posed in controversial print and TV ads for Calvin Klein jeans in which she uttered the famous tagline, “You want to know what comes between me and my Calvins? Nothing.”

Of course, those who weren’t around back then mostly will remember her for playing Joey’s stalker on Friends and for her starring role in the successful sitcom Suddenly Susan from 1996 to 2000. She also made seven appearances on That 70’s Show in 2004 and more recently starred in the comedy-drama Lipstick Jungle in 2008 and 2009.

Previous Throwbacks: Tiffani Thiessen, Jennifer Love-Hewitt & more!

Her latest acting adventures saw her in a recurring role on Army Wives and smaller roles in a couple of smaller films in 2013. No word on what she has planned for this year on, but whatever it is she does, knowing her it’ll be a success.
