Bro Blows $2,500 In Financial Aid On Trip To Thailand With His Girlfriend But It Was Actually A Brilliant Move

Brandon Lerry is a film student from the California State University-Long Beach. He received a $2,500 financial aid check from his school and felt that textbooks weren’t a good place to spend the money. Instead, Brandon used the cash on two plane tickets to Thailand for him and his girlfriend. He called it “a trip of a lifetime.”

Lerry filmed the entire trip and uploaded the video to YouTube with the title “How I Spent My Financial Aid Like A Boss.” He captured the amazing scenery on a GoPro and drone and the resulting video is absolutely amazing.

Naturally, people are blasting Lerry in the comment section of the video for “wasting financial aid” and that people would kill for that money to get an education. Those people, unfortunately, are fucking idiots.

Lerry did the ABSOLUTE right thing with the money. The financial aid was meant for textbooks or school supplies to help with his education. What’s more educational for a film major — a book about capturing something on film or CAPTURING SOMETHING ON FILM? Who are more successful, the people who read about how to do things or the people who actual go out and do them? The first group might eventually find success but the people who go out and just make things happen end up gaining the most.

If Lerry took the money and blew it on a trip and didn’t release a video, fine, then he’d be a total douche. The film major took the money, took his smokeshow girlfriend to Thailand, and made a film. So now when he graduates college he’s got this impressive video with over 110K views and not a pile of text books he needs to sell to pay the rent.
