Bad Lip Reading is back with a very special edition. Their latest effort features none other than Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back as the franchise blows up the box office yet again with Star Wars: The Last Jedi raking in money hand over fist on its opening weekend.
The Empire Strikes Back, released in 1980, was the second installment in the original Star Wars trilogy and is considered by many to be one of the greatest movies of all time. In 2010, according to Wikipedia, the film was selected for preservation in the United States’ National Film Registry by the Library of Congress for being “culturally, historically, and aesthetically significant.”
The film, when adjusted for inflation is also the second highest grossing sequel of all time, earning over $290 million in America and $538 million worldwide… in 1980!
Of course, as good as any movie like The Empire Strikes Back was and still is, there’s always room for improvement. That’s where Bad Lip Reading comes into play.
I mean, what Star Wars movie isn’t made better by Luke Skywalker rapping about his snowspeeder?
