Jimmy Kimmel Live

It was Jimmy Kimmel’s 50th birthday yesterday. He’s come a long way since The Man Show with Adam Carolla back in the day. Jimmy’s one of the most universally beloved men in show business, by actors and fans alike. He’s got that ‘every guy’ genuine appeal that seems to play well with fans, but not every fan.

For Jimmy’s 50th birthday a ton of celebrities showed up to make his special day. Ben Affleck, one of Jimmy’s closest friends, was his guest last night to talk about being a child actor with Matt Damon and why he played Batman. Ray Romano, Adam Sandler, and George Clooney all paid special tribute to Jimmy Kimmel on his 50th birthday. But none of that came close to this special edition of ‘Celebrities Read Mean Tweets‘ where celebs read tweets about Jimmy Kimmel instead of mean tweets about themselves:

As I mentioned above, a lot of celebrities popped in to pay tribute to Jimmy Kimmel on his 50th birthday. James Taylor and Adam Sandler were on hand to surprise Jimmy, which is eerily reminiscent of Sandler’s dark comedy Funny People, a movie I loved but 85% of the people I talked to about it hated. Of the other celebrity tributes to Jimmy on his 50th birthday, I’d suggest watching the Clooney video (below) as well as the James Taylor performance because who the hell doesn’t love watching James Taylor?!

Clooney:

James Taylor: “Mr. Kimmel, Happy Birthday.”
Jimmy Kimmel: “Thank you, holy shit.”

He might not be the highest paid man in Hollywood but I’m convinced that amongst celebrities, Jimmy Kimmel is the #1 most liked guy in show business.
