Foo Fighters Rock Out On ‘Carpool Karaoke’ And Have Drum-Off Against With James Corden

Generally, only pop singers like Lady Gaga and Adele have joined James Corden on “The Late Late Show” signature segment, “Carpool Karaoke.” On Wednesday however, it was the Foo Fighters who rocked Corden on his way to work. Dave Grohl and the boys not only sang their hits in the car, but also challenged Corden to a drum-off at a guitar shop.

The late night host joined the Foo to sing some of their biggest hits such as “All My Life,” “Best of You,” and “Learn to Fly.” They also jammed out to their latest single, “The Sky Is a Neighborhood,” from their new album Concrete and Gold that was released earlier this month and features Justin Timberlake and a Boyz II Men singer. They talk about how the Foo Fighters were formed and Grohl’s now infamous broken leg incident.

In the 13-minute clip, the all-time great American rock band end up at a guitar shop where Corden auditions to be a drummer. One problem, he has to go up against two of the greatest drummers on the planet – Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins. Not exactly the type of all-world legends you want to challenge in your first ever drum-off.

Then the Foo Fighters, with new lead singer James Corden, Rickroll the audience at the guitar store by pretending to play Nirvana‘s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” only to have them break into Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up.” Recently, Astley joined the Foo on stage to sing his iconic song and then covered the Foo Fighters’ classic “Everlong.”
