HBO

The fears of Game of Thrones fans everywhere were recently confirmed when HBO announced the show won’t be returning for its final season until 2019. The promise of movie-length episodes might be able to dull the pain at least a little bit, but if you’re dying to know what’s going to happen next in Westeros, you’re going to have to rely on a steady diet of fan theories and— if you’re really desperate— poorly-written fan fiction.

If you’re a casual watcher of the show, you might not understand how other people manage to devote so much time of their life overanalyzing seemingly meaningless details in order to predict how the series is going to end, but if you’re a degenerate gambler, you might want to start paying closer attention to the things you thought you couldn’t care less about.

London-based bookmaker William Hill recently released a list of odds concerning which Game of Thrones character has the best chance of sitting on the Iron Throne when the series finally comes to a close. If you’ve been looking for a concrete way to justify the multiple days of your life you’ve wasted watching the show, this might be your shot.

Here’s a full list of the odds via Winter Is Coming:

Jon Snow: 9/4

Daenerys Targaryen: 4/1

Cersei Lannister: 7/1

The Night King: 8/1

Tyrion Lannister: 10/1

Bran Stark: 12/1

Gendry: 12/1

Samwell Tarly: 12/1

Sansa Stark: 12/1

Arya Stark: 14/1

Euron Greyjoy: 20/1

Jaime Lannister: 25/1

Varys: 50/1

Theon Greyjoy: 66/1

Ser Davos Seaworth: 80/1

Yara Greyjoy: 80/1

Brienne of Tarth: 100/1

Jaqen H’ghar: 100/1

Melisandre: 100/1

Gilly: 250/1

Given the past history of Game of Thrones, there’s a chance that literally everyone on this list could end up dying over the course of the final six episodes of the series, but all bets will be returned if no one is ruling the Seven Kingdoms by the time the final credits start to roll.

If you need me, I’ll be throwing $10 on Gilly and praying to the Old Gods and the New for a miracle.
