Forget SantaCon— FieriCon Is Turning NYC Into Flavortown This Weekend

Every December, thousands of people clad in Santa hats, fake beards, and Will Ferrell’s outfit from Elf descend upon unsuspecting neighborhoods in New York City to celebrate SantaCon, leaving a wave of vomit, urine, and empty bottles of Rumple Minze in their wake. What was once a fun tradition has turned into a total shitshow, but if you’re looking for an alternative as we approach the holidays, you’re in luck.

On November 18th, NYC will temporarily become Flavortown, USA when FieriCon rolls into the city. For the second straight year, fans of Guy Fieri will have the chance to unite as one and celebrate the endless legacy of Mark McGrath’s long-lost cousin as they jump from bar to bar to rip shots of Fernet (which, as any true fan knows, is Guy’s drink of choice) and pay tribute to the personality (and noted philanthropist) who makes Emeril look like a lowly line chef.

Here’s some more info from the event’s About page:

FieriCon is a collection of Guy Fieri enthusiasts who are going on a bar crawl in his honor. It will start at The Hog Pit and end at Guy’s American Kitchen and Bar on November 18th. You can join the crawl at any time. You do not have to dress like Guy Fieri but it is highly encouraged.

I would argue you can’t call yourself a true Guy Fieri fan if you don’t already have a bowling shirt covered in flames, a pair of bright yellow Oakleys, and the willingness to bleach your hair at a moment’s notice, but I’m sure a wig will do in a pinch.

To all my Fieri fanatics: Godspeed.
