Get A Sneak Peak Of 5 New Images Of ‘PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds’ Upcoming Desert Map

It will be a year this December since PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds was released. And since then, the multiplayer battle royale video game has been an incredible success, accumulating more than 15.5 million sales. PUBG broke Steam’s record for highest number of concurrent players and regularly hits over 2 million concurrent players. This comes despite the massively popular online game only having one map to play on, the Enragel map. That is about to change as developer Bluehole is working on a couple of new maps for the game including a desert map. Hardware manufacturer Nvidia posted five new photos of an upcoming map that is set in the desert and they look promising.

“Oils rigs, canyon walls, towers and cranes should make for some interesting snipping, while the more dense cityscapes should intensify scavenging,” says Nvidia. “The desolate landscape is sure to make for some white-knuckle final circle encounters, as there is not a lot of landscape cover when the circle tightens and forces you into open areas.” Cranes add an interesting factor the board as we found out in the “Highrise” multiplayer map from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Compared to the current map, the desert location looks more open and flat with plenty of abandoned structures to take cover and take down the competition. Based on the new images, there doesn’t seem to be any of the same buildings as the Enragel map.

There is no word on when the new map will be available, but since there are five screenshots, that indicates that it will be sooner than later. Many believe that it could come as soon as December. That’s when PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is being released to Xbox One.
