On Saturday, driver Niklas Lilja traveled to an 11-mile stretch of road in Nevada and proceeded to set the record for the world’s fastest commercial car. His Koenigsegg Agera RS hit a top speed of 284 MPH, which broke the record that was previously set by a Hennessey Venom GT in 2014.
A camera was affixed to the dashboard to document the attempt, and the footage is not for the faint of heart. The environment is a blur and the striped white line in the middle of the road basically becomes solid as he nears top speed, and while Lilja said he was never scared, I think he’s at least a little bit full of shit based on how anxious I got while watching this.
Shoutout to Lilja for not dying.
