Around 5.5 million Italians immigrated to the United States from 1820 to 2004. Italian Americans are the fourth largest white ethnic group in the United States. Giving the Italian influence in American culture, it’s a damn shame how few Italian fast restaurants exist in society. Carrabba’s, Bertucci’s, and Olive Garden round out gold, silver, and bronze, in no particular order.
I ate at Olive Garden last year in Times Square. My two takeaways after a decade-long exodus from the OG: 1.) It’s sneaky expensive for its reputation (I spent $85 between two people. We were drinking sweet wine in excess.) 2.) The bathroom, where I spent most of my time, smelled like poop.
It looks like I need to make my way back to Olive Garden, as a new menu offering has got my blood pumping and my cholesterol revving.
Olive Garden has introduced The Meatball Pizza Bowl to its lunch menu. The Meatball Pizza Bowl is a baked pizza crust filled with cheese, 10 meatballs, and sauce. It weighs over one pound and the best part–it only costs $8.99.

According to Thrillist, it is being introduced as the newest addition to the Lunch Duos menu, which will allow you to pair it with unlimited salad and breadsticks. The Meatball Pizza Bowl is only served Monday through Friday, before 3 PM, roll out of bed, take a bong rip, and get to it.
