Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger once despised each other when they were competing mega action movie stars back in the 80s. “We had a violent hatred,” Stallone told David Letterman in 2013. “Have you ever had that ever? Competition where you really had an arch enemy that kind of brings out the best in you. As Arnold would say, it really pushed you to accelerate.” However, things are much different these days with both huge actors appearing in movies Escape Plan and The Expendables. Now the two are best buds and Stallone even invited Schwarzenegger over for Christmas to check out his new $400,000 Rocky statue that he just bought.

Last month, the Rocky Balboa statue from Rocky III went on auction because the San Diego Hall of Champions closed down and that is where the statue was being housed. The statue was one of two replicas made by artist A. Thomas Schomberg, and the original stands tall in Philadelphia. The 9-foot tall, 1,800-pound Rocky Balboa was sold to Stallone for $403,657 according to TMZ. Schwarzenegger was one of the first people to see the Rocky Balboa statue when Stallone invited the fellow action star to his home on Christmas. The 71-year-old Rocky star posed with the 70-year-old Terminator in front of the iconic statue. Stallone shared the moment by posting the joyous photo on his Instagram with the caption: “Well look who [dropped] by on Christmas!’ Stallone wrote. ‘@schwarzenegger always fills the room with positive energy!”

Stallone appears to have a wonderful Christmas with his wife Jennifer Flavin, and their daughters Sophia, Sistine, and Scarlet.

Good to see that the warmth of Christmas brings together even former arch-enemy action movie stars.
