First Full Trailer For The New ‘Tomb Raider’ Film With Alicia Vikander As Lara Croft Looks Amazing

The first full trailer for the new Tomb Raider film was aired last night on The Late Late Show with James Corden. The latest installment in the Tomb Raider franchise will feature Academy Award winner Alicia Vikander starring as Lara Croft. Alicia Vikander has appeared in Jason Bourned, Ex Machina, and in 2016 she won the Oscar for ‘Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role’ for her work in The Danish Girl.

Other celebrities who are set to star in Tomb Raider (2018) include Walton Goggins from Justified and Vice Principals, an actor I ran into at a bar in London last January. And The Wire‘s Dominic West will appear on screen as Lord Richard Croft.

Here’s some bonus behind-the-scenes footage of Alicia Vikander talking about immersing herself into the role of Lara Croft:

I never got deeply into the Tomb Raider video game franchise while growing up but I came around to it in the past few years and got addicted as an adult. So even though a lot of people associate Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft I’m actually more stoked for this film than I ever was to see Angie on screen.

You can check out some teaser art for this film which was released earlier this week to hype up the upcoming Tomb Raider film. The movie’s set to hit theaters on March 16th, 2018, so set your calendar for a Spring Break movie session.
