Vince Vaughn Is Unrecognizable In Gritty ‘Brawl In Cell Block 99’ Trailer And Beats Up A Car

We have come to know and love Vince Vaughn’s acting, which often is highlighted by his quick-witted, smirky, snarky characters as seen in movies such as “Swingers,” “Wedding Crashers,” “Old School,” and “Dodgeball.” Vince Vaughn’s acting in his latest movie is nothing like that whatsoever. Instead, you get a dark, violent, and bald Vince Vaughn character who has a head tattoo and enjoys beating up cars. Bradley Thomas from the new movie “Brawl in Cell Block 99” is not your typical Vince Vaughn character.

Vaughn is a former boxer who loses his job as an auto mechanic right as his marriage is falling apart. With disappointment and despair all around, Bradley Thomas transitions into a drug-runner for an old friend. But sure enough, that goes to shit just as fast and he is in the middle of a gunfight with his new coworkers and the police. Thomas is arrested and thrown in prison where he must commit horrible acts of violence to survive. Vince even makes beating up cars great again like he was in the car smash bonus stage in “Street Fighter.”

The film also stars Jennifer Carpenter and Don Johnson. “Brawl in Cell Block 99” is written and directed by S. Craig Zahler, who wrote and directed 2015’s “Bone Tomahawk” that starred Kurt Russell. “We see him living a better life, where he’s purposefully turning a blind eye to the problems that he facilitates with his job,” said Zahler. “He eventually gets into a gunfight during a drug deal situation, and that lands him in jail, and his life only gets worse from there.”

“Brawl in Cell Block 99” is out in theaters on October 6 and available on demand on October 13.
