So I remember hearing the Angry Birds franchise was going to get its very own movie a little while back. My first thoughts were, “Well, that’s going to be fucking miserable to sit through for any parent of a 5-to-10 year-old. Birds being angry and loud. Big whoop.”
But then today, the first trailer for it was released…and I found out that the cast is actually comprised of some phenomenal comedians. The likes of Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Danny McBride, Bill Hader and many others. This thing might have potential after all. Not as a movie that parents take their children to (I mean, go ahead if you really want to) but as flick for college stoners to rip the bong before, during, and after. The animation is wild.
There’s no way putting all these people together doesn’t yield a raucous comedy, even if it does only garner a PG or PG-13 rating. Either that, or it totally flops. But my hopes are with the former. Here’s the entire cast:
