MTV’s Jackass became one of the most popular shows on television during 2000-2002, a time when Total Request Live somehow kept MTV relevant. Looking back, that was a weird ass time in American television, wasn’t it?
We had Bam Margera, Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O, Chris Pontius, Brandon DiCamillo, Ryan Dunn, and others filming themselves do the absolute dumbest of shit. I often look at the outlandish nature of Japanese game shows and wonder how Japan puts some of that stuff on television, but compared to MTV’s Jackass some of the outrageous clips you see from Japanese TV aren’t so bizarre in comparison.
The Jackass TV show only ran three seasons but it launched several movies, and multiple spinoff TV shows (Wild Boyz, Viva la Bam, CKY, etc). The success of these pranks shows created an entire generation of people willing to do really, REALLY, extremely stupid shit on camera.
In a recent interview, Bam Margera told a story of the absolute most disgusting thing he’d ever seen a Jackass fan do and I’ll be honest, this is borderline-nsfw levels of disgusting:
“I did one signing where I ate somethin’ with a bunch of tomatoes in it right before. We did the signing and I was sipping on Coronas. I guess I drank too much and I threw up this mix of Corona and tomatoes. Right afterwards this fucking hot chick jumped out of the line and sucked it all up. It wasn’t a Jackass stunt, it was like, I want Bam’s throw up in my body! It was fucking weird. That was the gnarliest thing, and she was cute too and that was more mind boggling. She sucked up my throw up not as a dare, she just did it because she wanted it inside of her.” via JenkemMag
Fuuuuuuuuck no. Bam Margera got into some extremely stupid shit on Jackass but eating another human being’s waste? That’s something I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy.
