‘Deadpool 2’ Brings On ‘John Wick’ Director, New Details On ‘Deadpool 3’

In a seemingly match made in heaven, John Wick director David Leitch will direct the upcoming Deadpool sequel. I hope he likes chimichangas. This comes less than a month after Tim Miller dropped out of being the director of the sequel due to “creative differences” with star Ryan Reynolds.

Commenting on Miller’s exit from the sequel, Reynolds said earlier this month, “All I can really add is that I’m sad to see him off the film. Tim’s brilliant and nobody worked harder on Deadpool than he did.”

After Tim Miller left the project fans started a petition for Quentin Tarantino to take over the franchise. The original writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Rheese are still on board.

Deadpool was the biggest hit of 2016 for Fox and raked in $782 million at the worldwide box office against a budget of $58 million, the highest-grossing R-rated film in history.

In related news, Fox is apparently already planning a third Deadpool movie that will feature the X-Force. It is said they are looking for a different director other than Leitch and Miller.

Leitch, who recently wrapped up filming the Charlize Theron Cold War thriller The Coldest City, made his directorial debut co-helming John Wick with Chad Stahelski. Before that, Leitch spent years as stunt coordinators and second unit directors, even creating a stunt company named 87eleven.

Let’s hope that nobody messes with Deadpool’s dog.
