Things got intense at the Democratic presidential debate Sunday evening between Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton. ‘The Bernski’ was in the midst of delivering a sentiment on Hillary’s part in the Wall Street bailout, when Clinton interrupted saying ‘you know,’ only to be immediately silenced by a very red-faced, maddened Sanders who all but scolded her like she was an ignorant , overeager kid in grade school that answered a question incorrectly without raising her hand first.
The awkwardness that ensued was palpable, and Sanders looked like he was just two clicks away from steam shooting out his ears, and rage poppin’ face blood vessels, before imploding altogether. Times correspondent Phil Elliot sent out a tweet in response to the incident that hits the nail on the fucking head:
