Disney’s DuckTales was an after school staple of my childhood. One of the cartoons I’d watch every single afternoon after getting home from school/soccer practice/whatever. DuckTales, Dark Wing Duck, Anamaniacs…These shows all took up a shit ton of time for millennials like myself whose parents sat them in front of a TV every afternoon.
Well, Disney XD is launching a DuckTales reboot this Summer that premieres the week of my birthday, almost as if they’re relaunching tee show for me and me alone. The Disney DuckTales reboot hits airwaves on August 12th in a 1-hour premiere that Disney will then play on repeat for 24-hours straight. Here’s an overview of what we can expect in the series reboot:
Based on the Emmy Award-winning series treasured by a generation of viewers, Disney XD’s animated comedy-adventure series “DuckTales” chronicles the high-flying adventures of Duckburg’s most famous trillionaire Scrooge McDuck, his mischief-making triplet grandnephews, Huey, Dewey and Louie, temperamental nephew Donald Duck and the trusted McDuck Manor team: big-hearted, fearless chauffer/pilot Launchpad McQuack, no-nonsense housekeeper Mrs. Beakley and Mrs. Beakley’s granddaughter, Webby Vanderquack, resident adventurer and the triplet’s newfound fierce friend.
It appears as if all the main characters are coming back, and if this opening title release from Disney is any indication they’re looking to make this series as nostalgic as possible…Anyone else stoked for this or am I on an island here?
