Emma Watson Had An A+ Response To The Haters Trying To Shame Her For Posing Semi-Topless

The other day when we shared a story about the reasons why Emma Watson refuses to take selfies with fans we also mentioned that she was getting flack for posing semi-topless for Vanity Fair.

I know, we didn’t understand it either, but there it was…

And those people weren’t alone, not by a long shot. Even Piers Morgan had to get in on the whining because he’s a troll of Skip Bayless-level proportions.

Over the weekend Watson was understandably confused by all the backlash she was getting over one simple photo and spoke to the BBC about it.

“It just always reveals to me how many misconceptions and what a misunderstanding there is about what feminism is. Feminism is about giving women choice. Feminism is not a stick with which to beat other women with. It’s about freedom, it’s about liberation, it’s about equality. I really don’t know what my tits have to do with it. It’s very confusing. I’m confused. Most people are confused. No, I’m just always just quietly stunned.”

When asked about it by her Beauty and the Beast co-star Dan Stevens she replied, “They were saying that I couldn’t be a feminist and… and have boobs.”

Ridiculous.

As for the photo itself, here’s what she, the person who counts, thought of it…

“I was honestly slightly taken aback by it because it sort of hadn’t – you know – we’d been doing so many crazy things on that shoot, but it had really felt incredibly sort of artistic, and I’d been so kind of like creatively involved and engaged with Tim [the photographer] and I was so thrilled with how kind of like interesting and beautiful the photographs were.”

As I pointed out the other day, I think this person’s response to the whole “controversy” sums it up best…

You’d think by now Watson would also have this understanding. Some people just live to complain.
