A ‘Fight Club’ Rock Opera Is In The Works With Music Scored By Trent Reznor

News is circulating that Fight Club is set to be turned into a rock opera, with music scored by none other than Nine Inch Nails front man, Trent Reznor. Reports indicate that Fight Club‘s director, David Fincher, is scripting the project. Previously, Reznor and Fincher worked together on numerous award winning films including The Social Network, which won Best Original Score at the 2010 Academy Awards, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, which landed a 2011 Golden Globe nomination for Best Original Score, and most recently, Gone Girl, which earned both a Grammy and Golden Globe nomination for its fantastic musical score.

The announcement of the Fight Club rock opera first came by way of the novel’s author, Chuck Palahniuk, who told writer Jeff Goldsmith of Reznor and Fincher’s project during “The Q&A with Jeff Goldsmith” podcast, and was later confirmed during the Fight Club panel at Comic-Con.

So there’s no way this isn’t going to be awesome. There’s no news whether Brad Pitt, Edward Norton, Jared Leto, or any of the film’s original cast has any involvement, but we can only keep our fingers crossed. You’ll find us on Broadway when the Fight Club rock opera premieres, and we’ll be sure to let you know when that will be.
