‘Game Of Thrones’ Actor Who Plays Bran Stark Confirms Some Fan Theories Are 100% Legit

The major Game of Thrones news to come out yesterday from HBO was the announcement of Season 7’s premiere date. Game of Thrones will return on Sunday, July 16 at 9pm. HBO made this announcement on Facebook where they’d made a sign with Season 7’s premiere date, frozen that into a block of ice, and then live streamed fire slowly melting that block of ice while tens of thousands of people waited to see what would happen. At the time, I was pretty annoyed with how goddamn slow the announcement was but after sleeping on it I think it was a masterful marketing ploy by Game of Thrones.

Now, we’re here to talk about Bran Stark. If you’re not caught up through Game of Thrones‘ Season 6 then there are some spoilers in this article, so you should probably leave now.

Still reading? Okay, let’s get to the goods.

In an interview with The Huffington Post, actor Isaac Hempstead Wright who plays Bran Stark, the last living Stark male (that we know of), discussed how there are some truly legit fan theories out there. He started talking about it in the context of someone actually nailing Hodor’s ‘Hold The Door’ theory, and then went deeper:

“God, I love it,” Hempstead Wright said while talking about reading theories. The actor recalled reading a theory about Hodor’s origin story long before the big reveal on the show.
“I remember reading when I got sent the script for Season 6, and it had Hodor’s death in it. I thought, ‘God, this is amazing. Let me Google this to see if anyone came up with a theory,’ and of course there was some guy on some forum somewhere who had come up with ‘hold the door,’ ‘hold the door.’ It was in a slightly different context, but he got it absolutely dead-on, so it’s like anything really could happen,” he said.
“No, there are times you read it and go, ‘Holy shit! Yep, they’ve got it,’” he said.
Despite the good theories out there, even the guy who plays Bran doesn’t know how things will turn out in the end.
“Even though we’ve just shot Season 7, you have no idea how it’s gonna end or what’s gonna happen in Season 8, so I love going online and seeing what people are coming up with,” Hempstead Wright said. via

So, he doesn’t actually know how the show will end but he’s all caught up on Season 7, the forthcoming season, and he confirmed that he’s read fan theories online which were legit…’Yep, they’ve got it’…Which theories? I’m sure he’d lose his job and be kicked out of Hollywood forever if he actually leaked any of those theories as legit, so we’ll just have to watch for Game of Thrones Season 7 to premiere on July 16th.

I’ll continue to blog about all things related to Game of Thrones as we march towards the premiere date, which is exactly 128 days from now, and you can follow me on Twitter to see my baseless GoT tweets from time to time:
