Anyone Freaking Out About Last Night’s ‘Game Of Thrones’ Episode Needs To Watch This Season 3 Clip Right Now

So it’s safe to say that last was the craziest episode in Game of Thrones history. ‘Mother’s Mercy’ saw some MAJOR character deaths (I won’t say which just yet), and by 10:01pm last night my phone was blowing up with texts from friends who felt like they’d just been stabbed in the back. It’s been said over and over again in recent days, but the show has both caught the books on some plot points and even passed the books on others.

SPOILERS AHEAD:

The final death in last night’s Game of Thrones episode is where the most recent book more or less leads off (that and Dany’s plot point). So book readers are just as clueless as show watchers as to what’ll happen next season. Is he dead? Is he really dead? the one man who I think we all believed had a greater importance in Westeros is gone? Well, as you can see from the clip above there are ways that he can be brought back to life. In the clip above we see Beric Dondarrion being resurrected by Thoros of Myr. Beric Dondarrion was the ringleader of the ‘Brotherhood Without Banners’ in the aftermath of the War of the 5 Kings when Westeros was in flux. Beric Dondarrion was killed by the Hound in a battle to test his resolve. This was the 5th or 6th time he’d been killed, each time resurrected by a priest serving the Lord of Light.

So this is what we know right now:

Priests (and presumably priestesses) serving the Lord of Light can resurrect people from the dead.

Jon Snow is on his death bed. At this point we’re all supposed to assume he is in fact dead.

Lady Melisandre serves the Lord of Light and has shown considerable magic prowess in the past (re: demon shadow baby that killed Renly Baratheon).

Lady Melisandre showed back up to Castle Black shortly before Jon Snow was stabbed to death by his brothers in black.

So here’s what we think will happen:

The Lady Melisandre will resurrect Jon Snow from the dead.

And here’s why that might not happen:

Kit Harrington (Jon Snow) gave an interview to EW.com saying he will NOT come back. But that’s what any good actor would say. We’re suppose to believe what we see on the screen. We’re NOT supposed to remember this clip of Beric Dondarrion being resurrected by the Lord of Light.

Nothing at this point is certain, and we can all at least have a glimmer of hope that one of the best Game of Thrones characters might return in the future.
