HBO Confirms That Season 8 Of ‘Game Of Thrones’ Will Be The Last, BUT A Spin-Off Is Possible!

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Season 8 of Game of Thrones will indeed be the last of the hit fantasy TV show.

FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK!

On Saturday, HBO’s programming president Casey Bloys announced the grim news at the Television Critics Association press tour in Beverly Hills. When asked by EW if the network plans to end the show with Season 8, Bloys said, “Yes.”

“Yes, they have a very specific plan about the number of seasons they want to do,” Bloys said. “Believe me, as the new [programming executive] coming in, if I could get them to do more. I would take 10 more seasons. But we take their lead on what they think they can do the best version of the show.”

Well, this is a goddamn…

This comes as no surprise since GoT showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss’ have said that there are only 13 episodes left, but this is the first statement by someone at HBO.

HOWEVER, there is a chance for a spin-off!

“We’ve talked about it, it’s something I’m not opposed to, but of course it has to make sense creatively,” he said. “I’m not sure that the guys could really wrap their heads around it when they’re just about to start production. It’s a pretty intense production, they’re about to start production soon. I’m open to it. The guys weren’t opposed to it, but there’s no concrete plans for it at this point.”

The only hope we have is that there is a spin-off show. By the old gods and the new, please let that happen!

While we eagerly wait an entire year for Season 7 of GoT, check out this Thrones theory.
