Justin Timberlake And Jimmy Fallon Dropped ‘History Of Rap 6’ Featuring Everything From NWA To Wu-Tang

It’s a little hard to believe that this is only the 6th episode of Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake’s iconic ‘History of Rap’, the recurring rap and hip-hop medley on The Tonight Show.

On top of this being quite possibly the best sketch in late night television, I’d like to take a step back and discuss how Jimmy and Justin pretty much dominated every aspect of September 9th, 2015. Some of you might have heard that yesterday the Queen of England broke the record for the longest time on the throne of any British monarch, but the Queen’s got nothing on JT and JF.

As video was beginning to go viral yesterday evening showing Jimmy and Justin dancing to Beyonce’s ‘Single Ladies’ at the U.S. Open during Roger Federer’s match the world had no idea that the best bromance on TV had just wrapped up shooting what is perhaps the greatest episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon ever filmed. Not only did they release the ‘History of Rap 6’ but Jimmy had (America’s sweetheart) Ellen DeGeneres on as a special guest, so naturally Jimmy squared off against Ellen in a ‘Lip Sync Battle’. This wasn’t just any ‘Lip Sync Battle’ either, Jimmy busted out the ‘Whip/Nae Nae’ while Ellen shot back with ‘Bitch Better Have My Money’ by Rihanna:

It’s been like 8 hours since the show aired and already ‘History of Rap 6′ has over 4 MILLION VIEWS on Facebook, and the ‘Lip Sync Battle’ is up over 3 million. That’s nearly 1 million views per hours since those bits aired last night on The Tonight Show. Now I don’t follow their #’s super closely but I’d have to think that’s some sort of a record for them, so much so that Jimmy was compelled to toss up a Facebook post bragging about how they were the top trending topic in the ENTIRE WORLD last night:

#FallonTonight so proud of tonight's sow. Thank you everyone that works so hard everyday and everyone who watches.
