Welp, That Homeless Guy Miley Cyrus Brought on Stage at the VMAs Wasn’t All That Homeless

All good things must come to an end, especially poorly orchestrated PR stunts that didn’t do their due diligence beforehand.

It turns out that Jesse, the wayward, homeless youth Miley Cyrus brought on stage at the VMAs to raise awareness of homeless youths (and show the Miley brand isn’t all bikinis and blunts) was one of those homeless-by-choice, not so homeless people after all. He left his home to, you know, become a male model.

Speaking from her home in Salem, Mrs [Linda] Helt, mother to Jesse’s three brothers and sister, added Jesse chose to ‘go it alone’ and chase his dreams.

She said: ‘He wanted to be in Los Angeles and he had opportunities and he took them, but you know, he’s had his ups and downs like anybody else.

‘It was his choice, he was always welcome, he could always come back any time. If he needed help, I’d help him, we help one another,’ she added.

Just a thought to keep in mind, Miley. It was a nice move. Homelessness and our general callousness toward that plight is one of the world’s most awful afflictions. But maybe find someone a little more, you know, traditionally homeless next time.
