On Friday, 20th Century Fox dropped the second extended trailer for Independence Day: Resurgence, and IT. LOOKS. INSANE.
With an encore performance from Jeff Goldblum, and Liam Hemsworth cast in the lead role to fill the void of Will Smith’s tragically killed-off character, Col. Steven Hiller, the sequel picks up twenty years in the future, and goddamn those aliens are back at it again with their earth-destroying plans.
Not gonna lie, every second of the two minutes and change of this trailer was exhilarating. Can you imagine seeing this in IMAX come June 24? Because I sure can’t. Seriously. Worried I might pass out from the overwhelming inter-galactic intensity.
It’s taken twenty years to get a second Independence Day, and man, it’s shaping up like it was worth the wait.
