Jesse Eisenberg Will Officially Be Returning For The ‘Justice League’ Films, But When?

Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice was quite the polarizing film. Some people thoroughly enjoyed it (me being one of them). Others, though, hated it with the fire of a thousand suns. Why? I’m not quite sure. One casting choice, though, who was out of left field was Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. Luthor, per the comic book storylines, was not (at all) how he was depicted in BvS. Eisenberg conjured up what seemed like a Joker method move and turned it into some young, power hungry twit who would never shut up. But guess what? He will be coming back for the upcoming Justice League film(s). Here’s what Eisenberg announced MCM London Comic Con:

I’m kind of in wait. They just started filming Justice League, so I’m kind of like waiting for my crack at it.

I don’t know what I’m allowed to say, because I feel like there’s probably some drone following me from DC, and if I say anything wrong I get, you know, picked off.

Based on what he has said, this hints at a smaller role for Luthor moving forward. Less impacting? Not at all. But screen time sounds like it could be limited.

Eisenberg also went on to talk about his approach on Lex Luthor and that he wanted to ‘make his character relatable.’ That may be. But the unique take on the classic DC villain was definitely just that, unique.

Either way, it will be fun to see the entire DCU expand onscreen throughout the years. It has a lot of potential to be something great.
