Jim Carrey Being Sued For Allegedly Providing Drugs That Killed His Ex-Girlfriend And Then Covering It Up
Last year on September 24th an ex-girlfriend of Jim Carrey named Cathriona White died of an overdose of Ambien, Propranolol and Percocet.
Now Carrey is being sued by Mike Burton, White’s husband, who claims that Carrey provided her with the drugs under a fake name and then tried to cover it up.
White, who had filed for divorce in December before her death mentioned her relationship with Carrey in her suicide note and Carrey was a pallbearer at her funeral.
“After obtaining these drugs illegally and under a bogus name (“Arthur King”), Mr. Carrey proceeded to provide the prescription drugs to his 30-year-old girlfriend, Cathriona White,” the suit reads. “Mr. Carrey did so despite the fact that he knew full well that Ms. White was ill equipped to ingest and manage highly addictive prescription drugs outside the care of a liscensed physician.”
The suit goes on to allege that Carrey attempted to cover up his involvement in her death. “In an effort to cover-up his conduct and complicity in her death, Carrey sent a bogus text message on September 27, 2015 to White (who was already deceased) pretending as though he had misplaced the drugs and insinuating White may have taken them from Carrey without his knowledge.”
On a semi-related note, Page Six reported that Carrey disrupted the Showtime Emmys party (pictured above) by screaming out during the middle of Showtime president David Nevins’ speech. What that was all about remains to be seen.
