Jimmy Fallon was making a ton of headlines last year for things that happened away from the camera, and those incidents have bled into this year. Remember the time that he injured his hand partying with a bottle of Jägermeister? Or prior to that when Jimmy almost skinned his finger clean when he got his wedding ring caught (all while allegedly drunk)?
Well, some NBC insiders spoke with PageSix about Jimmy’s alleged drinking problem and claim that at one point it ‘got out of control’. Here’s what they’re saying about Jimmy’s drinking:
An NBC insider said of the funnyman, “There were fears that Fallon was out of control and something could happen while he’s out drinking. Things got so serious at one stage that execs feared that Jimmy was splitting up with his wife over his drinking, but they patched things up.”

Another Fallon source said, “He is a heavy drinker. He sees himself as somebody who needs image rehabilitation.”

The first source said that, while Fallon’s show is No. 1, a few key staff members have left to work for CBS rival James Corden. “Fallon is insanely jealous of Corden,” the source continued. “There’s been some upheaval, and Jimmy hasn’t handled it well.
Just last month, Jimmy Fallon was reportedly seen getting hammered until 3am at Manitoba’s punk bar in the East Village (NYC), drinking alone in the corner of the bar and rocking out to the music on his own iPhone, throwing everyone hugs on the way out….Or this clip of him leading the bar in some karaoke:
Which, if we’re being honest, doesn’t sound problematic to me at all. Everyone is entitled to a night out anytime they need it, and Jimmy Fallon works longer hours than anyone you know. He’s always on, every minute of every day. He deserves to let it all hang out from time to time, and I don’t see why the media’s choosing to paint this all as problematic.
Jimmy’s contract with NBC has been renewed through 2021, so whatever trepidation they might’ve had seems to have been assuaged by Jimmy’s sudden change in behavior.
