Jimmy Fallon Described His Gruesome Finger Injury In Great Detail And It Will Make You Cringe

Jimmy Fallon returned to the Tonight Show last night for the first time since injuring his hand on June 26. The funnyman described the harrowing details of the incident that happened when he caught his ring finger on a countertop. His tale will make those of us married guys who wear a wedding band want to stop wearing them.

Fallon said he experienced “ring avulsion,” a condition that you should absolutely not do a Google Image search for — even if you’re using the term in a blog post.

“Apparently, the odds aren’t great, and usually they just cut your finger off,” Fallon said about the situation. He ended up undergoing a six-hour surgical procedure involving doctors taking a vein from his foot and reconnecting it with tissue in his finger.

“I won’t get feeling back for eight weeks,” he said, adding: “I was in the ICU for 10 days.”

The talk show host thanked the medical team that assisted him, and he even found a bright side to the ordeal. “I should say, the fall was funny,” Fallon pointed out. “I’m a comedian, so I have to fall funny.”

Again, do NOT look for pictures of ring avulsion injuries. Just trust me that it’s bad. You’ve been warned multiple times.
