Johnny Depp Visited A Children’s Hospital In His Captain Jack Costume And It Was Fantastic

There’s just something really cool about a celebrity visiting a children’s hospital dressed up as an iconic character that they have portrayed. That was never more true than when Chris Pratt and Chris Evans did it after the Super Bowl.

And now we’ve got Johnny Depp, in his full Captain Jack Sparrow costume doing the same. Gotta love it.

Depp made all the kids’ day at Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital on Tuesday when he showed up along with his costar Stephen Graham, who plays Scrum.

The Children’s Hospital Foundation noted on Facebook

“Dressed in full costume, both Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow and Stephen Graham as Scrum spent over three hours making a real difference to sick kids and their families in hospital! Both actors flew in for the visit from the Gold Coast, landing in a helicopter on the hospital’s rooftop as they took time out from filming the next installment of Pirates of the Caribbean, Dead Men Tell No Tales.”

How cool is that?

This isn’t the first time Depp has done something like this either. Back in 2010 when he was filming Pirates of the Caribbean 4 he showed up at a school after nine year-old Beatrice Delap wrote him a letter asking him to help her stage a “mutiny” against the teachers. Depp, who was in London at the time, Delap’s hometown, showed up there in full Captain Jack gear as well.

Awesome.
