‘King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword’ And Guy Ritchie Will Finally Make People Give A Crap About Ancient History

While most of the big news coming out of Comic Con involved Batfleck and Captain Marvel, the annual event debuted a couple trailers from highly anticipated films that don’t involve heroes in spandex.

They involve heroes in puffy shirts.

Guy Ritchie has gone all Guy Ritchie on the story of King Arthur and Excalibur in the new film King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword. Starring Charlie Hunnam, Jude Law, Djimon Hounsou, Eric Bana and Aiden Gillen, King Arthur traces Arthur’s journey from the streets to the throne.

When the child Arthur’s father is murdered, Vortigern (Jude Law), Arthur’s uncle, seizes the crown. Robbed of his birthright and with no idea who he truly is, Arthur comes up the hard way in the back alleys of the city. But once he pulls the sword from the stone, his life is turned upside down and he is forced to acknowledge his true legacy…whether he likes it or not.

If this King Arthur tale was told in school, I would have paid more attention.
