Kit Harrington Says ‘Game Of Thrones’ Is ‘Going To Get Very Dark Before It Gets Better’

We’ve got another solid 9-12 months before Game of Thrones returns, which in turn also means that we’ve got another 9-12 months of the showrunners teasing plot lines, Maisie Williams hyping people up about the script and actors dropping hints as to what they think is going to happen come season seven’s premiere.

So when Kit Harrington told The Hollywood Reporter that Thrones is “going to get very dark before it gets better,” he’s coming from a place of ignorance – as in, dude hasn’t read the script. He’s guessing. His guess is probably only a little more accurate than yours, assuming your guess isn’t something inane like “John and Daenerys get married and use Bran’s crippled legs as butt plugs on their wedding night.” That would be a horrible, no-good terrible guess.

“It’s important to stress at this point that I haven’t had any scripts, so this is all guess work for me,” Harrington explained to The Hollywood Reporter. “I think it’s going to get very bleak before if there is a happy ending, if there’s any sort of win or heroic moment for Jon and everyone else. I think it’s going to get very dark before it gets better. I think what we might see this season is those White Walkers and that Army of the Dead really come into force. So that’s going to be exciting to see. I don’t know what it means. I think with the whole ‘winter is finally here’ business, it means everyone is going to have a really bad time.”

In other words, get ready to have even MORE of your favorite characters kick the bucket by series’ end! Arya, Sansa, Jorah and Jaime…all dead, all kickin’ the bucket. Sam will still be alive because god forbid they off the ONE PERSON we’ve all been waiting to see die since season one, and we all know that Cersei won’t make it. Who’s left to root for when the only options are obvious?
