MTV Is Finally Bringing Back The Two Shows It Never Should Have Cancelled In The First Place

MTV is the home of Teen Moms and…yeah, I’ve got no idea. I don’t even know the MTV channel number on my TV. It’s up there, around the 700s, in an area where I never go looking.

To boost the ratings, MTV relaunching a bunch of new shows this Fall. New shows that were old shows, the shows we grew up on and would absolutely watch again.

Music Television is set for a solid fall program lineup that will feature new shows as well as a handful of classic reboots. Among the roster is a relaunch of MTV’s Unplugged, the channel’s intimate, acoustic performances made famous with appearances by the likes of Kurt Cobain, Lauryn Hill and Jay-Z.

Another MTV classic, Cribs, is also being relaunched with Snapchat. The celebrity home-snooping series that was popular in the early ’00s.

Those two shows are responsible for some of my favorite albums ever — Nirvana, Jay-Z and Springsteen Unplugged — as well as some of the oddest MTV moments of all time. Like that time Cribs visited the Ying Yang Twins.

Cribs releases this June with MTV’s Unplugged following sometime in the fall.
