Need For Speed Payback Trailer Looks Awesome And Has A ‘Fast And Furious’ Vibe

There is no escaping the fact that Fast and Furious has become a behemoth movie franchise. Furious 7 raked in an astounding $353,007,020 at the box office, which put the franchise’s all-time box office numbers at a mind-numbing $1,514,856,916. Since there hasn’t been a Fast and Furious video game in over a decade, Need For Speed Payback may be trying to steal some of that F&F shine. And wisely so.

During EA’s press conference at E3 2017 on Saturday, they revealed a trailer for Need for Speed Payback that not only looks spectacular, but also has a very Fast and Furious vibe to it. It even appears to rip off scenes that are almost identical to the massively successful movie franchise such as a truck hijacking effort.

The video is action-packed and features lots, and lots, and lots of wrecked automobiles. The trailer focuses on a crew of drivers communicating with each other to pull off an epic highway heist. Based on the trailer alone, the latest chapter of NFS definitely feels a lot more cinematic than past efforts.

Here is a description of the trailer:

“The crew (Tyler, Jess and Mac) have learned that The House are transporting a car equipped with a new piece of technology that may be a key component in bringing them down. This calls for one thing: acquire the car, get hold of the tech and dent The House’s plans. The Highway Heist is one of the set piece moments that takes place within *Need for Speed *Payback’s single player campaign which follows the story of Tyler, Jess and Mac as they set out to bring down The House.”

Electronic Arts said Payback will put players “behind the wheel of an action-driving fantasy,” featuring three different characters, each with their own unique style. There of course, will be the usual and deep car customization.

Need For Speed Payback is scheduled to race onto your screen on November 10 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
