Someone Made A Modern, Multiplayer Version Of ‘Goldeneye 64’ And It’s Completely Free

Stop whatever you’re doing and watch the trailer above immediately. If you grew up in the ’90s, you probably played hours upon hours upon hours of Goldeneye 007 on Nintendo 64. Playing GoldenEye with friends after school (proximity mines, sniper rifles, or power weapons only… no cheating by playing as Oddjob) is literally a rite of passage for an entire generation.

If you’ve thought to yourself “I wish there was a modern version of Goldeneye”, your prayers have sorta been answered. Some genius created GoldeneEye: Source, which is a multiplayer-only version of the classic game. It includes all the levels in the original and all the classic weapons you grow up loving: Norinco Type 56-1, the FN P90, the Golden Gun, etc.

It’s not an Xbox or Playstation console game, but you can download the mod right here for free.
