NYPD Created A $35M Video To Train Cops And It Includes This Classic Scene From ‘Road House’

Roadhouse taught the world many things back in 1989. It taught us that bouncers can make a killing, get killed, towns are corrupt and that Patrick Swayze could play a believable bad ass.

The classic action flick is now teaching a generation of NYPD officers a valuable lesson. According to Gothamist, a clip from the movie appears in a new training video for officers and gives advice on how to deal with unmanageable New York City residents — break a pool cue over their heads be nice.

“If somebody gets in your face and calls you a cocksucker, I want you to be nice. Ask him to walk. Be nice. If he won’t walk, walk him. But be nice. If you can’t walk him, one of the others will help you, and you’ll both be nice. I want you to remember that it’s a job. It’s nothing personal.”

The line about “What if somebody calls my mama a whore?”, to which Dalton replies “Is she?”, well I’ve got to imagine that same question was asked by a million New York cops. Then they asked “can we just go straight to choking him?”
