The highly-anticipated Baywatch movie hits the big screen on May 25th. The film stars Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Zac Efron, Priyanka Chopra, Kelly Rohrbach, and Alexandra Daddario. But, it will feature some cameos from original Baywatch cast members Pamela Anderson and David Hasselhoff.
For my money, Priyanka Chopra is one of the top three most beautiful women currently working in Hollywood. She’s best known in America for her role on Quantico, but even before she started landing major roles in the U.S. she was one of the highest-paid actresses in the world because she’s already had an incredibly successful career in India’s Bollywood.
Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, Priyanka Chopra discussed how large of a cultural impact Baywatch had in India where she grew up. Expressing that everyone in India pretty much thought that Baywatch was exactly what America looked like….They weren’t wrong. I look back at the 1980’s and 90’s in America and it was exactly as depicted on Baywatch.
One funny mention comes toward the latter part of the interview when Priyanka talks about how David Hasselhoff called her up and said he wanted to do a movie with her in Bollywood. I’m not sure if this is David’s way of sliding into her DM’s, if his career has sunk so far that he wants to go work in India because he can’t get roles in America, or if it’s all of the above. Thoughts?
