Watch The Trailer For ‘Range 15’, A Badass Zombie Movie Made By Military Veterans, Starring Military Veterans

How many times has a Hollywood studio made a movie about war starring overpaid, over-coddled actors who know nothing about real military experience? Hundreds of times. Thousands, even. Range 15 is attempt to put actual military heroes on the big screen instead of Fendi-wearing drama queen cheesedicks who sip kale smoothies between takes. Over the past two years, the project has raised over a million dollars on Indigogo for production. The film’s creators had a simple promise:

“This movie is so hardcore military it makes Hollywood wet itself and run home crying to mommy.”

Hell. YES!

The movie itself is a prototypical zombie apocalypse flick — Lots of campy one-liners while the world is slowly going to shit. A squad of special forces elite is tasked saving humanity and kicking zombie ass. So they travel to Range 15, a military installation a la Area 51 where scientists have a developed a cure. Think Zombieland meets The Expendables meets I Am Legend, except with a cast of heroes IRL cracking the jokes.

The first trailer for Range 15 was released at the Sundance Film Festival on Monday, where it’s presumably being shopped around for a distributor. As promised, the movie stars a real whose who of decorated armed forced personal: Lone Survivor Navy SEAL veteran Marcus Luttrell makes a cameo, along with other American badasses like Army Ranger-turned-Internet comedian Mat Best. Via the Washington Post:

Actors shown in the trailer include Luttrell and Best, recent Medal of Honor recipients Leroy Petry and Clint Romesha and Tim Kennedy, a Special Forces soldier who also competes in mixed martial arts professionally in the UFC. Brian Stann, a Marine who earned a Silver Star for valor in Iraq and fought in the UFC, also makes an appearance.

Civilians like Randy Couture and William Shatner also make appearances. This YouTube commenter’s enthusiasm sums it up perfectly:
