Shaq caused quite the uproar last week when he announced that he believes the world is flat. His rationale was that he takes a road trip from California to Florida and it looks flat to him, so the world must be flat. He also reasoned that by not questioning whether or not the world is flat we’re all just sheeple who believe whatever we’re told.
We know the earth is round. This isn’t up for debate. The curvature of the earth is measurable. We’ve got millions of photographs taken from space. Saying the ‘earth is flat’ is just a lazy way of trolling people IRL.
Shaq took a ton of flack for claiming the world is flat. While appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, Shaq took the opportunity to explain his comments and clear his good name. Shaq’s a joker, and while he never explicitly states ‘I was fucking with everybody’ I think it’s pretty clear that Shaq was messing around and his ‘earth is flat’ comments were just jokes. He’s spent enough time in private jets to witness the curvature of the earth.
