Sinead O’Connor Spills A Story About The Time Prince Punched Her In The Face

The loss of Prince last week has seen an influx of stories about the deceased music legend’s storied life and career. Some of them are (understandably) pretty absurd. Like this one about a disagreement he had with Sinead O’Connor, the famous artist who sang “Nothing Compares 2 U”, a Prince-penned anthem.

According to O’Connor, she and Prince had a very tumultuous relationship. One that ended in, as she called it, “a punch-up”:

“We didn’t get along at all. In fact, we had a punch up. He summoned me to his house, and he’s very foolish to do this with an Irish woman… he told me he didn’t like me saying bad words in my interviews, so I told him to fuck off.

He got quite violent. I actually had to escape out of his house at like 5 o’clock in the morning. He really packed a punch. Bigger than mine.

We’re running around his car, he found me on the road, we’re chasing, I’m spitting at him, he’s trying to box me, and that’s how we got on. I had to ring someone’s door bell — which is a trick my father taught me years ago — to escape.

I could run faster than him, though, because my father was a sprinter, and Prince had on the boots.”

This is pretty weird story, not going to lie. Do I believe it happened? Yes. However, with current reports surfacing that Prince was addicted to painkillers, it’s not out of left field to think that maybe he wasn’t always in his right mind. Add this to the fact that O’Connor is by no means a stable individual, and I’m sure there’s more to this story that will eventually come out. Until then, keep it here bros.
