Sophie Turner And Maisie Williams (Arya And Sansa Stark On HBO’s ‘Game Of Thrones) Got Matching Tattoos

By 09.20.16

Before cleaning up at the Emmy Awards Sunday night actresses Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner, who play Arya and Sansa Stark on HBO’s Game of Thrones respectively, went off to the tattoo parlor to get matching BFFL tattoos before anyone could stop them. The tattoos aren’t in any way scandalous or salacious, nothing like what you might expect from a Miley Cyrus, instead they’re a heartfelt homage to the day both girls were cast on Game of Thrones, roles that would forever change the courses of their lives:

It’s the date that both girls found out they were going to star on HBO, “07.08.09.”. First let’s check out the story of the tattoos (via Esquire) and then below we can look at some photos of the girls from this year’s Emmy Awards:

“She’s one of my best friends in the whole world,” Williams told E! News’ Giuliana Rancic. “We got matching tattoos.” She then showed off the date on her forearm in peach that reads “07.08.09.” “That’s the date that we both heard we got Game of Thrones on…I got it the other day. [It’s] still a bit crusty.”

It’s nice to see that the young girls care so much about each other they’re willing to get matching tats. I feel like it’s rare these days you see this sort of camaraderie amongst young actors in America, not since the Brat Pack got their AARP cards. Anyways, here’s what Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams have been up to before/during/after this year’s Emmy Awards:
