The ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Trailer Gets The J.J. Abrams Lens Flare Treatment It Deserves

YouTube

This being the internet–which has an abiding passion for all things meme, parody and mocking–you knew the Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer would spawn countless spoofs.

It was impossible for it not to happen. And we’ve already seen a Lego version of the trailer, as well as a George Lucas-inspired take.

Add to the already impressive canon this video.

If there is one negative thing you can say about J.J. Abrams, it’s that he overly indulges in the use of lens flare in films. Notably, Star Trek was so over-the-top, flared out that some scenes were essentially washed up.

So, Tom Barker gave his Star Wars trailer the same, intense Star Trek treatment. It’s so bad, you can’t even see the Millennium Falcon in the climatic shot. I like it.

Let’s hope Abrams doesn’t do this in the actual movie.
