The Travel Channel Is Bringing Back ‘Man Vs. Food’ Without Adam Richman And The Internet Is PISSED

Before Matt Stonie was slamming monster burritos on YouTube, Adam Richman was pioneering epic eating challenges on the Travel Channel’s Man Vs. Food. Debuting in 2008, the Travel Channel ran 85 episodes of the show, with Richman becoming one of the most recognizable faces in food television. His challenges were nothing short of epic: Massive cheesesteaks by Tony Luke’s in South Philly. A 10-pound stuffed pizza in Hartford. Hellishly hot suicide wings in Brooklyn. Indian curry that’s so hot it needs to be made with a gas mask. All with a voiceover by Richman and surrounded by fans cheering him on.

The Travel Channel retired the show in 2012. After a little bit of a hiccup a few years back over Adam responding to Instagram trolls, Travel Channel brought Adam back with Secret Eats with Adam Richman. The show continues to be a staple on the network, showcasing various local eateries around the world.

Meanwhile, last week, Travel Channel quietly announced the return of Man Vs. Food. The show will have a new host:

Meanwhile, fans of the original show are slamming the decision to bring the show back without Adam Richman:

Meanwhile, others are excited for Casey Webb, the new host of the show. Personally, I think we have to give the guy a chance and let Richman enjoy a life free of eating challenges. Do Internet fanboys really expect a man to go two decades eating 10-lb burritos every weeks?

Leave the eating challenges to a new class of up-and-comers. Like Molly Schuyler, who smashed a 3.5lb cheeseburger in under two minutes. Watch that here:
