WOAH: ‘Full House’ Is Coming Back to TV?!?!?!

Depending on your feelings about ’90s reboots, this is either HUGE news or extremely frustrating news. In an attempt to capitalize on the millennial generation childhood pop culture nostalgia trend that’s so in right now, Warner Bros. TV is apparently preparing to bring Full House back to television with some of the original cast. Full House went off air in 1995 and pretty much everyone associated with the show is, uh, old and looking for work, I guess. Except the Olsen Twins, who aren’t mentioned in TV Guide‘s exclusive on the revival details. I guess they have real paychecks in the form of compound interest:

Warner Bros. TV is mulling a new take on Full House, with some of the original cast intact…Leading the charge is John Stamos (Uncle Jesse) — who has an ownership stake in the show, which gives him good reason to champion the new series. Original executive producer Bob Boyett and creator Jeff Franklin (who’s writing the new version) are actively involved. Candace Cameron Bure (D.J.), Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie) and Andrea Barber (Kimmy) are on board, while Bob Saget (Danny) and Dave Coulier (Joey) are also involved in some way.

As excited as every TGIF-watching 20-something probably is about this, there is no doubt this is going to suck just as much — if not more — than the Boy Meets World revamp. Hollywood REALLY needs to stop with the whole bringing-back-childhood-shit-just-because-it-can thing. It’s beating a dead horse just to get Twitter to momentarily lose its shit over something until the mob moves on to the next thing.

It’s pretty sad that the people who got famous from Full House have to put the band back together 30 years later just to have a bankable Hollywood career. Like, I’m happy to see Bob Saget back in a way that doesn’t involve not sucking dick for coke, but who knew times were so tough with How I Met Your Mother off the air?

A few questions about what Full House might look like 30 years later:

-How many STDs does Uncle Jesse have at this point?

-Which daughter spent most of her life as a meth dealer for an outlaw biker gang? Smart money is on Stephanie, right?

-What department store is Uncle Joey doing his printed shirt shopping at these days?
