’25 Years Of Alive’ Is A Blistering Six Minute Journey Through Pearl Jam’s 25 Year Career

I’m not sure what makes other people love or hate certain bands or genres of music. For me, I have always enjoyed lyrics more than the music. Sure, a killer riff or intense guitar solo makes me want to run through a fucking wall — I’m only human for Christ’s sake — but it’s a song’s lyrics that usually hook me for the long haul. And I think that is the reason why I gravitate to the bands and musicians that I like. It’s certainly one of the reasons I became a Pearl Jam fan.

This video, which was created by Pearl Jam’s videographer, Kevin Shuss is a six minute trip down memory lane in honor of PJ’s induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on April 7, 2017. The video is set to “Alive,” which is arguably the band’s most famous song. It’s not my personal favorite song, that would be a five way tie between “Release,” “Oceans,” “Corduroy,” “Hard to Imagine” and “Sleight of Hand,” but it is one of the songs that put them on the map so I guess I’ll allow it.
