When I say this video from ‘Mashd N Kutcher‘ pop up in my inbox last night I ignored it, but when I woke up this morning and saw that the video picked up 100K+ views in less than 7 hours my interest was piqued. Then I watched ‘Mashd N Kutcher’ troll and entire crowd of EDM ravers and it was instantly obvious why this video was going viral, it’s incredible.
They’ve got the crowd so jacked up, they’ve worked them into a primal frenzy, everyone’s waiting for that drop…their moment of catharsis, and just when the crowd thinks they’re getting hit with the sickest drop in the history of EDM the DJ’s drop the hottest track of 1983, ‘True’ by Spandau Ballet. From there you think the crowd would be somewhat disgruntled, but once you take into consideration that ‘True’ by Spandau Ballet was a banger back in 1983 it’s no surprise that the crowd doesn’t revolt.
The way I see it is this: if ‘True’ by Spandau Ballet is good enough for the game Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain AND the movie Sixteen Candles, then it’s good enough for an EDM show from Mashd N Kutcher. If you’re looking for that song in full, here it is:
